Index
NOTE: This documentation has been designed for car creators for Midtown Madness.
This car installer will only install Midtown Madness cars. This program will copy your .ar file to the default Midtown Madness installation directory.
v1.02 updated info: You can now specify the installation directory.
This program has dependencies. What this means is that if the
user does not have the following files, they will not be able to use the Car
Installer properly. The required files are the following: MSVBVM60.DLL
That's the only file that is required for operating this car installer
program, and almost every person has this file. But, users that do not have this
file will not be able to use the installer, but will be able to copy manually
the car (.ar) file.
This will help you setup the Readme information that is displayed in the first box when the installer program stars.
First, make a text file with the name: Readme.txt
or readme.txt (it is not
case-sensitive)
Then, edit that file, and add your Readme information.
NOTE: If your readme information is short, no scrollbars will be shown in the readme box, if your readme information is long, scrollbars will be shown.
NOTE2: The file readme.txt must be present in the same directory as the installer EXE file is or else errors will occur.
v1.02 updated info: The program can now display Rich Text File as a
readme file, but it must be named readme.txt
You can make a Rich Text File in Wordpard save it, and then change the file
extension from " .rtf " to " .txt "
This will help you setup the Car Name information that is displayed in the CAR section.
First, make a text file named car.ae
Then, edit car.ae and add your
car name only.
NOTE: This file must not be named car.ae.txt , it must be named only car.ae or else, it will not work properly.
NOTE2: The file car.ae must be present in the same directory as the installer EXE file is or else errors will occur.
Setting Creator Name Information
This will help you setup the Creator Name information that is displayed in the CREATOR section.
First, make a text file named creator.ae
Then, edit creator.ae and add your name and last name only. You
may add also: First & Last Name (email@isp.net)
NOTE: This file must not be named creator.ae.txt , it must be named only creator.ae or else, it will not work properly.
NOTE2: The file creator.ae must be present in the same directory as the installer EXE file is or else errors will occur.
This will help you setup the Comments information that is displayed in the COMMENTS section.
First, make a text file named more.ae
Then, edit more.ae and add your
comments. If the comments are short, no scrollbars will be shown. If the
comments are long, scrollbars will be shown.
NOTE: This file must not be named more.ae.txt , it must be named only more.ae or else, it will not work properly.
NOTE2: The file more.ae must be present in the same directory as the installer EXE file is or else errors will occur.
In summary... You must have:
in the same directory as the installer EXE is or errors will occur.
If you don't want to put any comments, just create the more.ae file and leave it in blank.
This three files with the extension of .ae are plain text files with just a different extension.
